Radon: NOT a Home Project.

Radon. It’s not a word many people have heard before, despite it having a similar effect on your home as Carbon Monoxide; a deadly effect. Radon is essentially the decay of radioactive material seeping from the ground into your home. It’s a noble gas that is odorless and tasteless, which makes it very difficult for humans to detect without the help of special equipment. So if that’s the case you may be wondering, how do you find out if you have any radon in your home?

The truth is, the best way is to buy a radon detector that reads the level of Radon in the home. This way you will be able to detect the problem and have some idea of the severity of it before you call in some professionals to deal with it. Creating a radon system is NOT a home project. Radon is a serious issue that needs to be taken care of AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, in the safest and most effective way possible, and that is calling in people who have the training and experience to handle it.

The training our professionals go through includes an exam administered by the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program, on top of additional training in our offices. This is because radon levels fluctuate throughout the day and night as air pressure and entry forces through the building.  There’s a great deal for the professional to know to get an accurate reading, not only about radon, but building science as well.

So if you worry about your radon readings, and are unable to purchase a radon detector, or you've noticed high readings, give the Foundation Guys a call at: 1-866-375-9990 to book a free estimate that will ensure the problem is addressed.
